8th March, International Women's Day

Today on 8th March, International Women's Day, we celebrate the elegance, beauty and the strength of women in our lives. Theme for this year 2024 is "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress". It is aimed at tackling economic disempowerment. It emphasizes the need for investment in women's economic opportunities like education, skill development, work placements, accessibility to finance.

Girls should receive at par education and mentoring. It is important to give equal opportunities and reduce the discrepancies in the income generation. This will help them in all the walks of life.

The campaign theme is- Inspire Inclusion. This is to encourage the sense of belonging among women and promoting diversity. Inclusion on leadership and decision-making roles is a crucial element in achieving true gender equality. To make informed decisions about health and give adequate consideration to the psychosocial health is the need of every woman.

Protecting and supporting the female has to start in the family, eventually the community. We should strive to create an environment where all women are valued and respected. Let's recognise, appreciate women and their work roles in various fields of life.
